Want to see how the refreshed 2027 BMW 7 Series (G70) compares to the updated version of its biggest rival, the seventh generation of the Mercedes-Benz S‑Class (W223)?

BMW says that new 2027 7 Series is an “almost completely new vehicle”, adding that the facelifted flagship sedan “represents the most extensive model update ever carried out by the BMW Group.”

In comparison, the refreshed 2027 Mercedes-Benz S‑Class (W223) debuted in January with more than 50 percent of its parts (around 2,700 components) new or reengineered, making it “the biggest refresh that we have ever done in the history of the S-Class”.

The exterior of the new 7 Series benefits from the new BMW Iconic Glow Kidney Grille and ultra-slim headlights with integrated diamond-cut glass elements and newly designed rear lights.

On the exterior, the updated S‑Class gets an enlarged illuminated grille, a new twin-star next-gen DIGITAL LIGHT headlamps and an optionally illuminated Mercedes star bonnet-ornament.

Inside, the new 7 Series gets BMW’s new Panoramic iDrive, a pillar-to-pillar infotainment system featuring a BMW Panoramic Vision, a Central Display, Passenger Screen and an optional 3D Head-up Display.

Mercedes-Benz MBUX Superscreen combines a 12.3-inch instrument display, a 14.4-inch central display and the 12.3-inch passenger display as a single piece.

The new flagship 7 Series retains it its optional 31.3-inch BMW Theatre Screen for rear-seat passengers designed for 8K streaming, gaming and video calls.

In the S-Class limousine, rear-seat passengers gets two 13.1-inch rear entertainment touchscreens with inbuilt cameras for video conferencing.

The refreshed 7 Series lineup includes 740 and 740 xDrive, 750e xDrive, M760e xDrive, 740d xDrive and three (3) i7 electric – i7 50 xDrive, i7 60 xDrive and the range-topping i7 M70 xDrive with 680 hp

The new S-Class range includes the S 350 d 4MATIC, the S 450 4MATIC, the S 580 L 4MATIC, the S 580 e 4MATIC and S 450 e, while the electric EQS is available in EQS 400, EQS 450+, EQS 500 4MATIC and EQS 580 4MATIC.
