Huge Sinkhole, 66-feet Dip, Swallows Several Cars At Hospital’s Car Park In Italy
Huge sinkhole, measuring about 22,000 square feet across and 66 feet deep, swallows several cars at a hospital’s car park in Italy.
Local fire brigade reports that no one was injured during the incident.
Technical experts have been appointed to ascertain the causes of the collapse.

A giant sinkhole opened up in a hospital’s visitors’ car park in Naples, Italy, in the early hours of Friday January 8th, swallowing several cars.
Early reports suggests the huge sinkhole, which measured about 22,000 square feet across and 66 feet deep, was caused by the water infiltration from the heavy rains of the last two weeks.

Chief firefighter Cmdr. Ennio Aquilino, said :
“It’s almost certain that the rainwater from these past few days caused the seepage that resulted in the collapse,”
According to Naples Police, technical experts have been appointed to ascertain the causes of the collapse.

Huge sinkhole, 66-feet dip, swallows several cars at hospital’s car park in Italy
“The early-morning hypothesis that it was an explosion has been dismissed. No injured or victims,” the police added.
Local fire brigade reports that no one was injured during the incident as dog units were used to check no one was trapped at the site.
Operations at the hospital were not affected; but the incident forced the temporary closure of a nearby residence for recovering Covid-19 patients.


Two year olds, a sinkhole, measuring around ten metres deep, appeared in a residential area northwest of Vatican City.
Seven parked cars were reportedly swallowed by the sinkhole, forcing the evacuation of approximately 22 families from the residential area.
