In 12 months, Lagos Mobile Court prosecuted 58,342 cases involving driving on BRT corridors, wilful obstruction on highways. 

Mobile Court works with agencies like Lagos State Taskforce, LASTMA, FRSC, LAWMA, LAMATA), Vehicle Inspection Service (VIS) and KAI.

Between April 2025 and April 2026, the Lagos State Special Offences (Mobile) Court said adjudicated and prosecuted a total of 58,342 cases across various offences including traffic violations such as obstruction of highways, reckless driving and resisting arrest.





The highest number of cases recorded during the period under review involved :

• Conduct likely to cause breach of peace – 22,238 cases

• Failure to patronize approved PSP operators – 11,690 cases

• Driving on BRT corridors/wilful obstruction – 5,181 cases

• Unlawful conversion of government/private property – 4,926 cases

• Wilful obstruction on highways – 3,630 cases

• Street trading – 2,896 cases





• Sanitation Offences – 11,790 cases

This data was shared on the official social media platforms of the Lagos State Government, including its Facebook page, as part of activities to mark the third anniversary of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s second term.

During this period, the Lagos Mobile Court also intensified public sensitization and enlightenment campaigns through radio and television platforms to promote compliance with traffic and environmental laws.

In addition, annual management retreats were organized during the review period to enhance institutional effectiveness and service delivery.

The Lagos State Special Offences (Mobile) Court is a decentralized, on-the-spot judicial mechanism designed to summarily try and penalize minor infractions such as traffic violations, environmental abuses, and public nuisance offenses across the state.

It works with agencies like Lagos State Taskforce, Lagos State Traffic Management Authority ( LASTMA), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Lagos State Waste Management Agency (LAWMA), Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), Vehicle Inspection Service (VIS) and Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI).
