Lagos State Acquires Three 330-km High-speed Trains For Lagos Metro Blue Line Project
Lagos State Govt. announces the acquisition of three sets of brand new 10-car trains for Blue line project.
The Blue line project will run from Okokomaiko in Lagos – Badagary Expressway axis to Mile 2 and Marina on the Island.
At the completion of the Red Line and Blue Line Projects, Lagos will witness a major boost in its transportation sector.

Lagos State Governor Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Wednesday, January 26th 2022, flagged off the construction of the Opebi-Odo Iya alaro, Maryland- Ojota link bridge.
During the event, Sanwo-Olu announced the purchase of three brand new 10-car trains for the Blue line project, which joins the two that the State government had earlier purchased for the ongoing Red line project.h
The Red line project will run from Agbado to Oyingbo area of the state, while the Blue line project will run from Okokomaiko in Lagos – Badagary Expressway axis to Mile 2 and Marina on the Island.

Both projects are part of the excellent Lagos Urban Transportation Project that is being handled by the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA).
Earlier this year, during an inspection visit to the ongoing Red and Blue Rail Line project sites on, Sanwo-Olu said that the projects is on course and assured Lagosians that both Rail Projects will be completed by the end of the year.
“Our promise on the red and blue line is still on course. We believe that, by coming on a quarterly basis to supervise them, we would ensure that before the end of this year, we will see the trains on top of the tracks. That is our commitment and we will begin to monitor check ourselves.”
At the completion of the Red line and Blue line projects – a significant achievement in its rail system – Lagos will witness a major boost in its transportation sector.
