Mercedes-AMG E53 Hybrid 4Matic+ Revealed With 603-HP And Up To 100-km Drive On Batteries
Mercedes-AMG E53 Hybrid 4Matic+ revealed with 603-horsepower and up to 100-km drive on electric power alone.
All-new Mercedes-AMG E53 Hybrid 4Matic+ follows the reveal of the new sedan and estate version of the Mercedes E-Class last year.
AMG E53 combines outstanding performance with a long electric range, thanks to its Hybrid system that puts 577 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque.
It will be available alongside “Edition 1” trim, which packs extensive equipments, including MBUX Superscreen with passenger screen.

Mercedes-Benz performance brand has revealed the all-new Mercedes-AMG E53 Hybrid 4MATIC+, which is an AMG-badged variant of the sedan and estate version of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class that first made its official debut last year.
The new Mercedes-AMG E53 combines outstanding performance with a long electric range, thanks to the combination of 3.0-litre six-cylinder and electric motor, an Hybrid system that puts 577 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque.

This Hybrid system allows a 0-62 mph in 3.8 seconds and a limited top speed of 155 mph. But with the Race Start (part of the AMG Dynamic Plus Package), power is upped to 603 hp, while the top-speed increases to 174 mph and up to 87 mph on electric power alone.
“Thanks to the high electric range, many everyday journeys can be completed purely electrically,” said Michael Schiebe, the CEO of Mercedes-AMG and Head of Business Units Mercedes-Benz G-Class & Mercedes-Maybach.

“The vehicle offers typical AMG driving pleasure with excellent responsiveness, great driving dynamics and a sporty design. As a plug-in hybrid, the E 53 HYBRID combines mighty performance with efficiency.”
Mercedes-Benz says that the AMG E53 Hybrid boasts a high-voltage battery with a gross capacity of 28.6 kWh, which enables an electric range of up to over 100 kilometres when fully charged. When plugged into a 60 kW DC fast charger (available upon request), the battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in around 20 minutes.

In addition to the well-known driving modes : “Comfort”, “Sport”, “Sport+”, “Smoothness” and “Individual”, the new AMG E53 Hybrid 4MATIC+ comes with two hybrid-specific driving programmes : “Electric” and “Battery Hold”.
Inside, the Mercedes-AMG E53 comes with standard features like the Electrically adjustable AMG sports seats plus AMG performance steering wheel in Nappa leather with AMG steering wheel buttons.

Other standard equipments includes the MBUX multimedia system, though customers can choose a MBUX Superscreen with passenger monitor. The MBUX multimedia system offers AMG-exclusive content, including an AMG Performance and AMG TRACK PACE (optional).
The Mercedes-AMG E53 Hybrid 4Matic+ will be available alongside “Edition 1” trim, which packs extensive equipments as standard, including MBUX Superscreen with passenger screen, “Edition 1” lettering and engraving as well as AMG door sills with yellow illuminated “AMG” lettering.
