In its recent announcement, Mercedes-Benz revealed that during the third quarter of 2025, the company successfully delivered a total of 525,300 vehicles, encompassing both cars and vans.

This figure represents a significant decline of 12 percent compared to the same period in the previous year, reflecting the challenges the automotive market has faced in recent times. The decrease in deliveries highlights the competitive landscape and evolving consumer preferences affecting the luxury automobile sector.

The biggest decline was recorded in the key markets—in China by 27 percent, where domestic manufacturers are increasingly competing with Mercedes, and in the United States by 17 percent, while sales in Europe increased slightly.

Good news comes from the luxury car segment, though. Sales of G and S class vehicles increased by 10 percent year-on-year, compensating for the decline from the first half of the year, Wirtschaftswoche reports.

Electric models maintained last year’s sales level, with 42,600 vehicles delivered. However, compared to the previous quarter, growth of more than 20 per cent was recorded, thanks to the start of deliveries for the new electric CLA model.

In the first nine months of 2025, Mercedes-Benz sold a total of 1.6 million vehicles, a drop of nine percent compared to the previous year. Sales of passenger cars decreased by 8 percent to 1.34 million, and sales of electric vehicles decreased by 13 per cent to 118,400.
