With the proscribed group IPOB and its affiliate Eastern Security Network considerably active within the state, government security forces (GSF) are at high alert.

Oruku community, Nkanu East LGA carries higher risk levels due to repeated attacks by gunmen on communities and GSF within that axis.

The state also records an active protest culture within the Enugu metropolis proper, and large gatherings may carry attendant levels of increased risk.

Travellers are advised to operate with caution, and overt displays of government security force presence or affiliations may be ill-advised.
