Travel Advisory: June 2021
This state faces an increase risk of attack by gunmen in Sabon Gari.
Attacks by rogue herdsmen also constitute a major threat, as attacks have been logged in Wukari and Karim Lamido LGA recently.
Takum and Jalingo LGAs also carry increased threat ratings at this time, due to reported incidents of bandit attacks on the citizenry and GSF posted in the area. Kidnap is also a major threat, and certain roads such as the Karim Lamido–Jen road and the Takum–Wukari road carry higher levels of exposure.
Business travelers are advised to implement journey management procedures to ensure safety within the state, and local media could help travelers stay abreast with incident reports. In the areas highlighted above, GSF support may be required to minimize risk exposure.
