Last year, President Muhammadu Buhari, during his inauguration as the 16th President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; unveiled a custom-made 2019 Mercedes-Maybach S560 as his new official state car.

During his first term in office, the president had relied on the Mercedes Benz S550 he inherited from the former president of Nigeria.

But there is another rarely seen official state car, the bulletproof Lexus LX570 SUVs, which the President has been spotted in.

The president has been spotted inside the previous and latest generation of the Lexus LX570. Both SUVs combines luxury and ruggedness in their DNA. They were specially made to defeat various ballistic and explosive threats.

The SUVs, which cost between ₦70 million to ₦120 million, are currently among the most rugged cars in the presidential fleet.

The LX570 is fitted with more than a tonne of armour plating and bulletproof glass that allows it to withstand attacks from powerful weaponry including improved explosive devices (IEDs).

Despite the armouring, the luxury “Road Tanks” is incredibly smooth and better-equipped to tackle off-road obstacles.

Powering it is a massive 5.7-litre V8 engine that pumps out the power of 383 horses. The powerful engine delivers high-level of performance and comfort to on-road and off-road travel.
