Railway Suspend Staffs Who Lured Lagos-Ibadan Passengers To Pay Cash Instead Of Boarding Ticket

Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) suspend staffs who lured passengers to pay cash without obtaining official boarding ticket.
NRC says “This misconduct is regrettable and unacceptable as it negates the tenets and norms of the Corporation.”
Move by NRC follows the viral video shared by X user, @Dara4Enjoyment, which captures the staffs collecting cash.
The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has suspended a erring staffs seen in a viral video negotiating with passengers on-board Lagos-Ibadan Train Service (LITS) to pay without obtaining official boarding ticket.
This was made known in a press release signed by Yakub Mahmood, the Deputy Director Public Relations f. Management.
“This misconduct is regrettable and unacceptable as it negates the tenets and norms of the Corporation. The Corporation has therefore placed the identified erring officers on immediate suspension pending the outcome of the in-depth investigation already on-going by the Management Committee set up to look into the issue.”
“The Management of NRC wishes to use this medium to enjoin all our intending passengers on LITS and other train corridors to insist and demand for boarding ticket(s) after making appropriate payment at the designated stations or book online appropriately.”

The move by the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) follows the viral video shared by X user, @Dara4Enjoyment, where he narrated how uniformed NRC officials lured passengers to pay cash instead of the official boarding ticket.
