Stellantis Looks To Manufacture 11 New Commercial Vehicles In The Coming Years

Naturally, Stellantis Pro One is not forgotten in the extensive plans. Everything related to commercial vehicles takes place under that somewhat elusive name within Stellantis. That was already quite a lot, and it is set to become even more.

Stellantis Pro One is working behind the scenes on a fleet of new commercial vehicles of all shapes and sizes. By 2030, it will introduce no fewer than 11 new models, some of which will be replacements for current commercial vehicles. Given Stellantis’s extensive current commercial vehicle range, the majority of these newcomers will be replacement models. However, Stellantis also indicates that it is introducing models in market segments where it is not yet active. In Europe, this involves two new model series and four updated models. You can bet that among the true newcomers is a new Fiat Ducato, a van that will undoubtedly be distributed across various brands. The Citroën Berlingo and Peugeot Partner, and all their derivatives, may also be updated.

The commercial vehicle division states that it is introducing two new platforms. One is intended for medium-sized commercial vehicles, the other for larger ones. These two platforms are suitable for electric powertrains but also for powertrains with internal combustion engines and electric assistance. Indeed, multi-energy, to use a term that car manufacturers are increasingly (re)applying.

It doesn’t stop at those 11 newcomers. Stellantis also promises an ‘updated compact commercial vehicle’, specifically for the South American market, updated versions of the Strada and Toro, and a ‘thoroughly updated version’ of an internationally delivered compact commercial vehicle, as well as new electric powertrains for various current models, complete with LFP and NMC batteries.
