Tinubu To Inherit Buhari’s Armored Mercedes-Maybach, But Presidency May Upgrade To Latest S680 In The Near Future 

Tinubu to inherit Buhari’s armored Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, but presidency he may upgrade to the latest S680 in the near future. 

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be sworn-in as 16th President of Nigeria on the 29th of May 2023.

Presidency already confirmed Buhari and Osinbajo’s official vehicles would be taken over by their successors.

But the incoming administration may likely go for the S580 or S680 variants of the Mercedes-Maybach in the near future.

The President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR), the winner of the hotly-contested 2023 presidential election held on February 25th, will be sworn-in as 16th President of Nigeria on the 29th of May 2023.

INEC had on 1 March 2023, declared Tinubu the president-elect after he polled 8,794,726 votes to defeat his main opponents, Atiku Abubakar of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party’s Peter Obi, who polled 6,984,520 votes and 6,101,533 votes respectively.

Tinubu, a two-time Lagos Governor will not only succeed Buhari in office as the President, but will also take the keys to his current official vehicles, which includes the armored Mercedes-Maybach S-Class (S650) luxury sedans and Toyota Land Cruiser LC 200 SUVs.

The Presidency, while revealing that ministers will not be allowed to leave office with their official vehicles, confirmed that Buhari and his Vice, Yemi Osinbajo, would leave behind their official armored luxury vehicles, which it said would be taken over by their successors.

Armored Mercedes-Maybach S680/S680

Like we’ve all known, Presidents and Heads of State love to be chauffeured in Mercedes-Maybach S-Class ultra-luxury sedan, the latest model which arrived in November 2020 as the pinnacle of the new luxury saloon range.

The latest-generation of the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is available in S580 and the range-topping S680 trims, both of which comes with more premium and safety features that the model it replaces.

Though, it has been confirmed that Tinubu and Shettima will take over vehicles used by their predecessors, but the incoming administration may likely go for the S580 and the range-topping S680 variants of the Mercedes-Maybach in the near future.
