One of only 1,404 examples, this example was found in 2008 in Russia in poor condition due to its usage as farm vehicle.
Toyota was forced to fabricate a ground-up replica in the 1980s when no original examples were believed to exist.
This replica of the Toyoda AA is exhibited at the Toyota Automobile Museum in Japan.
Inspired by Chrysler’s Desoto Airflow, the Toyoda AA featured suicide doors as well as a split windscreen.

The world’s only surviving Toyota’s very first production passenger car, the Toyoda Model AA, is currently on display at the Louwman Museum in The Hague, Netherlands, the world’s oldest private collection of motor cars.
One of only 1,404 examples built in the six years of production from 1936 to 1942, this example of original AA was found in 2008 in Vladivostok, Russia in poor condition due to its usage as farm vehicle.

After purchasing it from the grandson of the original owner and farmer, this pre-War original of the Toyoda AA was shipped to Netherlands, where it has remained on display at Louwman Museum in its rusty and unrestored condition.
Years before its discovery, Toyota was forced to fabricate a ground-up replica of the Model AA in the 1980s when no original examples were believed to exist. This replica is exhibited at the Toyota Automobile Museum in Japan.

Inspired by the popular American-made Desoto Airflow built by Chrysler, the Toyoda AA featured a rear-hinged “Suicide Door” found on Rolls-Royce cars as well as a split windscreen.
A 3.3-litre, 6-cylinder unit with hhhhh horsepower powered the first production passenger car from the company named after its founder Kiichiro Toyoda and now known as Toyota Motor Corporation.
