Truck Plunges Into A River In Kogi; Claims The Lives Of 7

At the Kotonkarfe Community on Lokoja-Abuja Highway, truck plunged into a river and claimed the lives of seven persons.
The ugly incident was confirmed by Mr Emmanuel Abe, Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Kogi state.
Abe, while confirming the report, said that the truck plunged into Enyogi River, a tribute of River Niger at about 5.00a.m.

He went further to say 37 people were involved in the accident, and that many others sustained various degrees of injury.
The victims of the accident were taken to the Federal Medical Centre and the Kogi State Specialist Hospital, both in Lokoja.
Mr Abe also noted that speeding was the immediate cause of the accident.
He appealed to motorists to abide by the speed limit.
