Watch : Here is how Nigerian Customs Service new Mobile Scanners check for contrabands inside containers and vehicles.
The MT1213DE mobile scanners can identify concealed contraband or dangerous materials like explosives, narcotics and guns easily.
The Inspection System provides two types of scanning mode, including the standard mode, and the drive-through mode.
The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) says is has taken delivery of two NUCTECH MT1213DE mobile Container and Vehicle scanners that will help facilitate trade and enhance security at the Tincan Island Port.
According to the Customs Area Controller, Compt. Musa Abdullahi, the “integration of scanning into the Clearance Procedure for Imports is in line with Global Best Practice for Trade Facilitation.”
Mounted on a semi-trailer chassis, the two NUCTECH MT1213DE combines a sleek design and a modern appearance with flexible maneuverability and quick use. The mobile scanners can easily be relocated using a tow tractor.
The Inspection System can be deployed at port, land border, airport or other places where an inspection system is required temporarily (e.g. road check-point) for inspecting different cargoes and vehicles.

The innovative mobile X-ray inspection system has excellent detection features such as organic and inorganic material discrimination, rapid scanning and radioactivity monitor.
NUCTECH MT1213DE mobile scanners have higher penetration and lower scanning height to identify concealed contraband or dangerous materials like explosives, narcotics and guns more easily.
As depicted in the picture above, different materials are marked with specific colors, which helps in identifying the contraband and dangerous goods concealed among cargoes or hidden in the vehicle.
The Inspection System can provide two types of scanning mode for choice : the standard mode, where the scanned objects remain still and the scanning system moves, and drive-through mode, where the scanning vehicle remains stationary and the scanned objects go through the tunnel.
