Xiaomi’s upcoming sporty crossover, the YU7, offers advanced technology and an impressive 770 km range, according to recent filings with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).

The YU7, expected to launch between June and July, features the design language established by the Xiaomi SU7. We see similar “teardrop” headlights and a front bumper reminiscent of its sedan sibling. The vehicle’s aerodynamic profile, semi-concealed door handles, and frameless mirrors contribute to its sleek appearance.

The YU7 has a length of 4,999 mm, a width of 1,996 mm, a height of 1,608 mm, and a wheelbase of 3,000 mm, providing generous interior space. It features a ducktail spoiler and “halo” taillights for design consistency with the SU7. The roof-mounted LiDAR sensor points to advanced autonomous driving capabilities, while versions without LiDAR will still offer self-driving technology, indicating Xiaomi’s exploration of vision-based solutions.

The YU7 has a unique interior with an ultra-wide screen across the dashboard, displaying essential information like range, speed, and navigation. The YU7 will be available in single and dual-motor configurations. The top-tier dual-motor all-wheel-drive version delivers a combined output of 508 kW (691 horsepower), with front and rear motors producing 220 kW and 288 kW, respectively. This powerful setup allows for a top speed of 253 km/h.

There is a lower-powered dual-motor variant that offers a combined output of 365 kilowatts, with front and rear motors producing 130 kW and 235 kW. And finally, the single-motor rear-wheel-drive version comes with a single 235 kW electric motor and reaches a top speed of 240 km/h.

The Xiaomi YU7 offers three battery options: a 96.3 kWh NMC pack (ranges of 770 km, 760 km, and 675 km), a 101.7 kWh NMC pack (ranges of 670 km, 750 km, and 760 km), and an LFP battery for the single-motor version.
