10 Illegal Chinese Miners Arrested In Osun, Ferried Away In Amotekun-branded Trucks (Photos)
10 Chinese, a Ghanaian and 3 local Illegal miners arrested in Osun, ferried away in Amotekun-branded Pickup trucks.
The operation was carried out in collaboration with the state Joint Taskforce. It lasted for two hours.
Operatives of the Osun State Western Nigeria Security Network, codenamed Operation Amotekun, yesterday, has arrested illegal miners during a raid on four illegal mining sites in the state.
The operation was carried out in collaboration with the state Joint Taskforce. It lasted for two hours, following a tip-off by members of the public.
Those arrested include 10 Chinese and 1 Ghanaian, as well as three locals. They were ferried away in Amotekun-branded Pickup trucks.
The raided sites were Itagunmodi, Igun and Ariye I and II. The four sites are located in Atakunmosa-West Local Government Area of the State.
Speaking with journalists after the operation, the Director-General, Amotekun Corps in the state, Mr. Amitolu Shittu, said the operation was part of the state government’s resolve to clear the state of economic saboteurs.
He commended the JTF, which comprises of Nigerian Army, Air force, Navy; Police; DSS? NSCDC and Immigration; for their cooperation with Amotekun corps to make the operation a success.
