4 Useful Tips To Prevent Your Car From Skidding

Published

on

When a car suddenly skids, it can be a terrifying experience. It can lead to really fatal accidents.

Its important to note that a skid occurs when there isn’t enough friction between tire and road. This can happen when driving in wet conditions, stopping suddenly, or entering a turn at a high speed.

Let’s learn some tips to prevent your car from skidding

1. Don’t Use Worn Out Tires

Its very important not to use worn out tires. When your tires are worn out and the threads are almost gone, or have gone below a considerable level, it loses the ability to maintain friction, which is needed for proper movement and braking. So, make sure you don’t use worn out tires

2. Drive Slowly In Wet Conditions

When it rains, or when you are driving in a muddy area, make sure you drive slowly, else you might loose control of the car, because a muddy or wet ground reduces friction.

3. Maintain Enough Distance Between Your Car And The Car Ahead

Its good to always allow enough space between you and the car ahead of you. This way, you’ll have plenty of time to react if the driver in front of you stops unexpectedly ; trying to stop too suddenly can cause a skid.

4. Slow Down Before Entering A Curve Or Bend

Taking a curve too quickly or braking suddenly while going around a bend can cause skids. So, you have to slow down before entering a curve or a bend .
