Gas-guzzling Hummer SUV is coming back to life as an Eco-friendly Electric Pickup Truck, ten years after it was discontinued.

General Motors Company’s legendary Hummer is coming back to life, 10 years after the high-riding SUV was discontinued.

But this time, the blocky gas-guzzling SUV will live a new life as an eco-friendly zero-emissions all-electric pickup truck.

The Hummer-badged battery-electric pickup truck will be sold through North American GMC dealers alongside the GMC Sierra 1500, starting as soon as early 2022.

According to The Wall Street Journal, GM has signed NBA superstar LeBron James to help promote Hummer’s return, including a plan to air a commercial during this year’s Super Bowl.

The Super Bowl, an annual championship game of the National Football League, will take place in February. It is a common battleground for car brands like Mercedes-Benz and GM to show off their vehicles.

GM discontinued the Hummer back in 2010, after filing for bankruptcy and sought to cut some of its more costly brands.

When the 2023 GMC Hummer arrives in 2022, it will rival numerous electric trucks. These includes the Ford F-150 Electric, Rivian R1T, Tesla Cybertruck and Bollinger B2.
