Geely Launches New Concept Vehicle Called Vision Starburst That Will Revolutionize Their Brand

Geely this week unveiled the Vision Starburst concept, showing off the Chinese automaker’s future design direction. In typically lavish press-release language, Geely said the styling was inspired by “stellar phenomena,” including creased body lines that take inspiration from “stellar rays.” Geely calls the design direction Expanding Cosmos.

The Vision Starburst also debuts a new grille design, with lighting elements arrayed around the perimeter. Sensors are mounted in the upper corners of the front fascia, where headlights would traditionally be located, a statement that those sensors are the true “eyes” of the vehicle, Geely said. At the back, vertical taillights are connected by a horizontal lighting element.

Opening the dihedral doors reveals a futuristic interior with “Cosmic Ray” lights that seem to flow into the digital instrument cluster. The concept also has a two-spoke steering wheel and a tablet-like infotainment system.

Other highlights include four individual seats which are separated by a floating centre console. The latter boasts a geometric shifter with four different lines that illuminate to show the selected gear. Speaking of illumination, the ambient lighting system is envisioned to change depending on the state of the vehicle to convey information to drivers in a whole new way.

Geely says this particular car won’t be translated into a production vehicle, but it teased that many aspects of the design language will be borrowed for future products.
