101 Yr Old Who Learned To Drive At 10 In A Ford Model T Takes Mustang Mach-E Electric Car For A Test Drive

101 year old Harold Baggott who learned to drive In a Ford Model T when he was just 10 takes Mustang Mach-E electric car for a test drive.

Harold Baggott, believed to be one of the oldest motorists to take out an electric car, has held a full driving licence since 1936.

He is truly a fan of Ford brand as he has driven a variety of Fords – over 20 – through a number of generations.

He bought his first car, a Ford 8 Popular in 1937, while his second car, a Anglia, was acquired a year later.

US automaker Ford has identified 101 year old Harold Baggott who learned driving in a Ford Model T as the ideal customer to put its Mustang Mach-E electric SUV to the test.

Mr Baggott, who first had his first driving experience 90 years ago when he was just 10, could possibly be the only centenarian that has gotten behind the wheel of an electric vehicle.

Following the test drive, the 101 year motoring enthusiasts said :

“Since the age of 10, I’ve retained my interest in motoring and today find myself interested in the switch to electrification following the government phasing out the traditional combustion engines i’m used to.

“It has been wonderful to reminisce about my driving history with the Model T and to see what the future has in store.

“It was exciting to see and get behind the wheel of what I can expect to see my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren driving.”

Before taking the Ford Mustang Mach-E with a driving range of 379 miles for a test drive, he was also treated to a special Model T passenger ride in a 1915 example from Ford’s own heritage collection.

Mr Baggott, born in 1920, is believed to be one of the oldest motorists to take out an electric vehicle. He got his full driving licence since 1936, the first year it was introduced.

The 101 year old is truly a fan of Ford brand as he has driven a variety of Fords through a number of generations. He bought his first car, a Ford 8 Popular in 1937, while his second car, a Anglia, was acquired a year later. Since then, he and his family have owned up to 20 privately owned Ford cars.
