Toyota Crown Signia (Crossover) Breaks Cover, Set To Replace The Venza Again
Even more Toyota news: This is the brand new Toyota Crown Signia. The Crown Signia is a new SUV from the rapidly growing Crown family, of which it is the fourth and final new member.
The Toyota Crown Signia is an SUV-like vehicle that, with its front containing C-shaped headlights, fits in well with the rest of the Crown family and with the rest of Toyota’s latest models. For the time being, the Crown Signia will only be available in the United States with a hybrid powertrain. It consists of a 2.5-inline-4 engine that, together with an electric motor, produces a system power of 246 hp. All-wheel drive is standard. Based on the Highlander Hybrid’s performance, we expect the Crown Signia to have a 0–60 mph sprint time of just under 8.5 seconds, so it’s not the most rapid crossover around.
In the interior, we see a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an infotainment screen with the same diagonal. The Toyota Crown Signia SUV seats five occupants across two rows, so shoppers requiring seating for seven will need to go for the Grand Highlander. Second-row 60/40 folding seats are standard. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and there are three USB ports up front and a pair for folks in the back.
Toyota will offer the Crown Signia in XLE and Limited trims. The XLE carries a good amount of standard equipment: in addition to the aforementioned tech, the base Crown Signia comes with 19-inch wheels, combination fabric, and vinyl seats, a heated leather steering wheel, a power liftgate, and a six-speaker audio system. The Limited tacks on a panoramic glass roof, 21-inch wheels, leather upholstery, heated rear seats, parking sensors, and an 11-speaker JBL audio system.
Sadly, the Venza has been discontinued again after just 3 years, and the Crown Signia is its replacement.
