Tesla Cybertruck May Not Be Sold For A Year After Delivery

The Tesla Cybertruck should be on the market in the United States this year. A striking condition has now emerged for those who receive one.
Last summer, the Tesla Cybertruck finally went into production after quite some delays, but the market introduction will take some time. At least in the United States, it will take place this year, and apparently, some things are being prepared for this on Tesla’s local website. For example, conditions are already emerging for the delivery of the Tesla Cybertruck, where InsideEVs has discovered something interesting. The Cybertruck may only be resold for the first time one year after delivery.
Tesla states that the customer ‘understands that the Tesla Cybertruck will initially be supplied in a very limited edition’. Logically, they want to prevent people from immediately trying to sell the Cybertruck at a large profit, thus disrupting the market. Tesla has also included in the conditions what will happen if you decide to sell within that period. In extreme cases, the company says it will even demand compensation of $50,000. However, there are also situations in which things are a bit more nuanced. For example, if Tesla can be convinced that it is necessary to sell the car earlier, the car can be sold back to Tesla for the purchase price minus 25 US cents per kilometer driven.
Such a ‘sales ban’ is certainly not new in the car world. For example, we saw it two years ago at Toyota, which introduced something similar for the Land Cruiser in its home country of Japan.
