Ahead of February 29th launch, Governor Sanwo-Olu takes part in test-runs of brand new trains for the Red Line Rail.
Sanwo-Olu was joined in the trip from Ikeja to Iju (and back) by his deputy, Hamzat as well as the LAMATA boss, Engr. Mrs. Abimbola Akinajo.
The earlier said that the trains will soon be operating between Agbado and Oyingbo stations with a frequency of 10-15 minutes.
The 37-km Red Line rail from Agbado to Oyingbo will be commissioned on Thursday Feb 29 by President Bola Tinubu.
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Saturday (today) participated in a test-run of the 37-kilometre Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Red Line rail project ahead of the official presidential launch on Thursday February 29th 2024.
A video shared by Jubril Gawat, a Senior Special Assistant on News Media to the Governor, shows the moment Sanwo-Olu arrived at the Ikeja Train Station of the Red Line Rail Project for a test run of the brand new trains for the project.
Governor Sanwo-Olu was joined in the trip from Ikeja to Iju (and back) by his deputy, Obafemi Hamzat as well as the General Manager of the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA), Engr. Mrs. Abimbola Akinajo.
“Trains will soon be operating between Agbado and Oyingbo stations with a frequency of 10-15 minutes,” Sanwo-Olu said during his inspection of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Red Line rail infrastructures last Sunday.
It will be recalled that Lagos State Governor had last Wednesday announced that the 37-kilometre Red Line rail from Agbado in Ogun State to Oyingbo in Lagos will be commissioned on Thursday, February 29 by the Nigerian President, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
