JLR Announce Solid First Half Profits

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) announced its financial results for the three months to 30 September 2024 (the brand’s Q2 FY25).
Revenue down in Q2 FY25 due to supply disruptions as well as a temporary hold placed on 6,029 vehicles.
British luxury marque said first half profits increased by 25% YOY while H1 revenue at £13.7b was flat year‑on‑year.
New Range Rover Electric continues to generate strong global interest with over 48,000 clients signed up to the waiting list.
In addition, over 2,900 orders have been taken for recently launched new Defender OCTA, which retails at £145,000.
Jaguar Land Rover Automotive plc (JLR) today announced its financial results for the three months to 30 September 2024 (the brand’s Q2 FY25), including a revenue of £6.5 billion, which was down 6% versus Q2 FY24.
The Tata-owned British luxury marque said first half (H1) profits increased by 25 per cent year‑on‑year while H1 revenue at £13.7 billion was flat year‑on‑year.
Compared to the prior quarter, revenue was down 11% due to supply disruptions from a key aluminium supplier as well as a temporary hold placed on 6,029 vehicles to allow for additional quality control checks.
On sales, JLR said 11,000 Range Rover SV and Range Rover Sport SV models have been sold since launch and a collection of five Range Rover Sport SV Celestial models, which retails at £215,000.
JLR said the new Range Rover Electric continues to generate strong global interest with over 48,000 clients signed up to the waiting list, while over 2,900 orders have been taken for new Defender OCTA, which retails at £145,000.
“JLR has delivered a resilient performance in Q2, resulting in a 25 per cent increase in first half profits year‑on‑year. Our teams responded brilliantly to the aluminium supply shortages we experienced in the quarter, so we could deliver as many orders as possible to clients,” said Adrian Mardell, Chief Executive Officer.
