Construction of 14-kilometre LRMT Blue Line Phase Two surges past 30 percent completion, LASTMA has revealed.

The project, constructed by China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation, is expected to be completed by 2026.

It will include six stations in Festac, Alakija, Trade Fair, Volkswagen, LASU and Okokomaiko along with three bridges.





Once fully operational, the Blue Line will provide a reliable and affordable mode of transportation for millions of Lagosians.

The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) has announced that the construction of the 14-kilometer second phase of the Blue Line Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) project is now at about 30% completion.

This was made known by the Director of Rail Transport at LAMATA, Engr. Olasukanmi Okusaga, who recently led a technical team to inspect the progress of the project, which is expected to be completed by 2026.

Constructed by China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), the Second Phase of the Blue Line project is set to revolutionize urban mobility for commuters along the Lagos Badagry Expressway to Marina.

Covering a 14-kilometer stretch, the Phase 2 project will include six stations in Festac, Alakija, Trade Fair, Volkswagen, LASU and Okokomaiko along with three bridges in Maza Maza, Satellite town and LASU.





Once fully operational, the Blue Line Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) will provide a reliable and affordable mode of transportation for millions of Lagosians, reducing traffic congestion and air pollution.

It will be recalled that the first phase of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Blue Line, from Marina to Mile 2, was opened for commercial operations last September by the Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The first phase of the Blue Line covers a 13-kilometers between Marina to Mile 2 and has five stations at Mile 2, Suru-Alaba, Orile Iganmu, National Theatre and Marina. The journey lasts about 28 minutes, including 90-second stop at each station.
