BMW Refreshes Its iX Electric SUV For The 2026 Model Year

The electric BMW iX has been on the market since 2021, so BMW has now introduced an upgraded model. It comes with exterior and interior updates, as well as some changes under the hood that result in increased efficiency.

With the BMW iX facelift (i20 LCI), the electric SUV of the 2025 model year takes another noticeable step forward, especially in terms of range: up to 701 km is stated in the datasheet of the new BMW iX xDrive60, which follows in the footsteps of the previous iX xDrive50 and, in addition to a longer range, also offers more power, as it has 544 hp.

The sharper look is striking, as all iX models get a revised front end with the facelift. The focus is on the new light design, and the interior of the large kidneys has also been significantly changed.

The designers took a much more subdued approach to the rest of the electric SUV than they did at the front. Also worth mentioning is the new wheel design, up to 23 inches.

There is also a change in the colour palette: Arctic Race Blue, Dune Grey, Tanzanite Blue, Space Silver, and Carbon Black, as well as matte variants Frozen Deep Grey and Frozen Pure Grey.

One step below the iX xDrive60 is the new BMW iX xDrive45. Since the base iX now comes with a net capacity of 94 kWh, its maximum range is up to 602 kilometres. The vehicle has 408 hp and 700 Nm and accelerates to 100 km/h in 5.1 seconds.

Third in the group is the new iX M70 with 659 hp, making it the third most powerful vehicle in the BMW portfolio. The range is also increased in this case, as it can travel up to 600 kilometres on a full battery. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes 3.8 seconds.

All new BMW iX models benefit from a retuned drive system, further developed power electronics and a heat pump. The facelift is rounded out by new seats and a steering wheel. This gives the electric SUV a fresh look inside.

The revamped iX will be built at BMW’s Dingolfing plant in Germany in March. Deliveries are expected to begin in the second quarter of this year.

Prices in Germany start at 83,500 euros for the iX xDrive45; the iX xDrive60 version is priced at 99,900 euros. The BMW iX M70 requires 124,900 euros.
