Bentley Starts Construction Of ‘BEV’ Assembly Line Ahead Of Market Launch Of First Electric Car In 2027 - autojosh

Bentley starts construction of EV assembly line as it prepares to introduce its first fully-electric to the market in 2027.

Announced record levels of personalisation in 2024, with 70% of customers choosing a Mulliner bespoke option.

Luxury marque says operating profit reaches €373 million, the fourth best in the company’s 105 year history.

Bentley Motors on Wednesday laid the ground for its new Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) assembly line located in the oldest building at the Pyms Lane site as the british luxury marque prepares to introduce its first fully-electric car to the market in 2027.

At the event, Bentley announced record levels of personalisation in 2024, with 70 per cent of customers choosing a Mulliner bespoke option, resulting in the highest ever revenue per car.

The british luxury marque said this generated a revenue of €2.648 billion, and an operating profit of €373 million – the fourth best in the company’s 105 year history.

“Despite global challenges in 2024 and the run out and replacement of three of our four model lines, financial resilience measures introduced towards the end of the last decade ensured a sixth year of consistent profitability,” Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser, CEO of Bentley Motors, said while commenting on the results.

“Looking forward to 2025, of course we continue to navigate difficult global market conditions and maintained volatile political and economic environments, however our strength of sales is strong.

“We have reached record levels of revenue per car, a well-balanced export strategy and a clear structure to maximise personalisation. This, added to a full year availability of our new plug-in hybrid Continental GT and Flying Spur models gives us a great deal of optimism and will have a significant, positive impact on our order bank and sales as we continue through the year.”

While Bentley Motors hasn’t released the total number of cars it sold last year, the Volkswagen Group, which owned the brand, said Bentley sold 10,600 cars (versus 13,560 in 2023) between January and December 2024.
