LAMATA Projects 5 Minutes Headway For Lagos Blue Line With New Trains

The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) said it is on track to reduce the current headway for the Lagos Blue Line to 10 minutes, with plans to decrease it to every five minutes upon the arrival of new trainsets.

The Managing Director of LAMATA, Engr. (Mrs.) Abimbola Akinajo, made this exciting announcement regarding the Blue Line rail this week at the second edition of the “Endowed Professional Chair of Transport Studies” at Lagos State University (LASU).

Since the start of commercial operations on September 4th 2023, the Blue Line, currently spanning 14 kilometers from Marina to Mile 2, has already served about four million passengers, underscoring its growing importance in Lagos’ transport network.

The Blue Line has scaled from 12 to 72 trips per day in 18 months, with plans to reach 100 trips and a 10-minute headway with the procurement of the three additional rolling stocks – which is expected to increase the daily trips.

“Stepped in with the A7 swagger, drove out in full A9 glory,” Nord Automobiles wrote while sharing the news on its social media platforms.

It will be recalled that Tunde Onakoya landed an ambassadorial role with the car brand last June after emerging victorious in a chess game with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

His victory over Oluwatobi Ajayi landed him not only a brand ambassador role at the Lagos-based automobile company but also a brand new Made-in-Nigeria Nord A7 SUV.

EFCC Arrests 98 Suspected Internet Fraudsters In Enugu And Kwara, Recovers 28 Luxury Cars (Photos)

Operatives of the Enugu Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) also arrested 51 suspected internet fraudsters (Yahoo boand recovered 18 luxury cars, laptop computers and high grade mobile phones.

In a separate intelligence-driven operation, the Ilorin Zonal Directorate of EFCC arrested 47 suspects and recovered 10 luxury cars, 74 high grade mobile phones, 18 laptop computers, and a motorcycle.

Some of the luxury cars recovered from the suspects includes a black Mercedes-Benz GLE 350, silver Lexus RX 330, a Mercedes-Benz C-Class, a black Lexus ES 350, a Range Rover Evoque, a gray Toyota Avalon and a red Toyota Camry.
