The Volkswagen Group Believes Ai Will Play A Significant Role In The Future

The Volkswagen Group has implemented AWS cloud technology in 13 production facilities within its Volkswagen, Audi and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles brands, achieving significant savings and increasing efficiency.
Thanks to the high availability and scalability of the AWS solution, Volkswagen has successfully moved critical production systems to the cloud, reducing the risk of production line downtime. Standardization of the system already brings savings in the double-digit million amount.
The company currently uses more than 1,200 artificial intelligence applications, including the “KI4UPS” system that helps teams on production lines more quickly detect potential electronic problems. Using AWS services like Amazon SageMaker, Volkswagen trains artificial intelligence models to improve quality control.
Significant progress has also been achieved in the field of sustainability. At the factory in Poznań, Poland, artificial intelligence optimizes electricity consumption, resulting in a 12 percent reduction in energy costs and a significant reduction in CO₂ emissions. Let’s hope they don’t “optimize” the number of employees anytime soon.
