Nigeria’s 65th Independence Day : Check out the iconic cars that took part at the ‘Classic Car Drive and Show’.

Round trip from the Palms in Oniru saw dozens of iconic cars cruise through the heart of Lekki and Victoria Island.

Cars seen includes those that once ruled the Nigerian roads such as the Peugeot 504 and 505 and the Volkswagen Beetle. 

But the crowd puller was easily the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow fitted fitted with a custom number plate – Olorogun.

Produced from 1965 to 1980, the Silver Shadow was also called Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith II.

Car enthusiasts from around the country took part at this year’s ‘Classic Car Drive and Show’ organized by the Classic Car Club of Nigeria and The Palms Mall Lekki to celebrate Nigeria’s 65th Independence Day on Wednesday October 1st.

The round trip from the Palms in Oniru saw dozens of iconic cars cruise through the heart of Lekki and Victoria Island.

There route included Lekki Link Bridge, Bourdillon Road, Milverton, Glover, Falomo Bridge, Akin Adesola, Ahmadu Bello, Adetokunbo Ademola and the Eko Hotel.

Iconic cars sighted by Autojosh during the well-attended automotive event included cars that once ruled the Nigerian roads such as the Peugeot 504 and 505 and the Volkswagen Beetle, popularly known as IJAPKA.

Also seen at this year’s event are well-maintained Land Rover Series IIA, Jaguar XJ, 1970s Mercedes-Benz 450 SL, MG Midget 1500 and several Mercedes-Benz W114 and Mercedes-Benz W123 models.
