JLR Unveils 2027 Jaguar Type 01, A 1,016-HP Electric GT With 400-Mile Range, $170,000 Price

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has officially revealed the much-anticipated 2027 Jaguar Type 01, a dramatic all-electric four-door grand tourer that marks the beginning of a new era for the British luxury marque.
Designed, engineered and manufactured in Britain, the Type 01 arrives as Jaguar’s most powerful production car and introduces an unmistakably bold design built around a long bonnet, low roofline, sleek silhouette and muscular proportions.

“Combining British heritage, bold creativity, advanced technology and groundbreaking engineering, it reflects our ambition to create objects of desire that will help us invite a new generation of clients into Jaguar’s loyal and passionate customer base,” said PB Balaji, CEO of JLR.
The GT’s front end features Jaguar’s distinctive Strikethrough graphic and slim LED headlights, hidden door handles and a deployable rear spoiler, while the rear gets full-width lighting and a glassless tailgate.

Inside, the luxurious four-seat cabin combines premium materials, a panoramic roof, advanced digital technology and a massive 24-inch single-glass OLED display, supported by a 7-inch secondary screen and a Meridian sound system.
Built on the bespoke Jaguar Electric Architecture (JEA), the GT is powered by a tri-motor all-wheel-drive setup capable of producing up to 1,030 PS (1,016 hp) and 1,365 Nm of torque. This immense power launches the heavy electric GT from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in a blistering 3.2 seconds.

An 850-volt electrical system and 118 kWh usable battery provide an estimated 400-mile (643 km) EPA driving range and up to 447 miles (720 km) under the WLTP cycle, while 350 kW DC fast charging can charge the battery from 10 to 80 per cent in around 22 minutes and add 200 miles of range in just 13 minutes.
The Type 01 enters a highly competitive luxury electric GT market, where it will face models such as the Lucid Air Sapphire. Orders open in early 2027, with prices starting from £130,000 (approximately $170,000), while first customer deliveries begin in the second half of 2027.
