Child Crashes $93,000 Mercedes-Benz VLE Grand-Limousine Into Stand At 2026 Paris Motor Show

The all-new Mercedes-Benz VLE was among the stars of the 2026 Paris Motor Show, attracting visitors with its luxurious interior and velvet brown metallic finish, until a child reportedly crashed the electric van into part of the automaker’s exhibition stand.
Video circulating online shows the seven-seat VLE with a kid behind the steering wheel reversing into an exhibition wall, with a Mercedes-Benz representative standing beside the van appearing visibly frustrated as the incident unfolded.

Fortunately, nobody was reportedly injured when the unusual incident occurred on Saturday, October 17, at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles in France. Following the collision, Mercedes-Benz France confirmed to Caradisiac that the vehicle had sustained minor damage and was removed for repairs.

How the child managed to move a vehicle intended for exhibition remains unclear, but the automaker said it was conducting internal investigations. The incident raises questions about the precautions used to immobilise cars that visitors are allowed to explore at major motor shows.
The vehicle involved was the Mercedes-Benz VLE 300, displayed in metallic “velvet brown” with the Premium Plus equipment package and EXCLUSIVE design line. In an official announcement, Mercedes-Benz France had described the van as a major attraction at its stand.

Available to order on the French market since September 8th and offered with charging free of charge for three years, the 7-seat VLE grand-limousine is available from €83,002 ($93,254) for the VLE 300, and €97,088.80 ($109,081) for a VLE 400 4MATIC.
Inside, the VLE boasts an MBUX Superscreen, which unites a 10.25-inch driver display, a 14-inch central display, and a 14-inch front passenger screen. Another highlight is the Sky View panoramic roof, and a retractable, 31.3-inch panoramic screen featuring an 8K resolution—a split-screen function that is hidden in the headliner above the front seats.
