Yeah this happened to me in 2015 ….it was past 8pm and I was doing 80kph heading to costain link bridge …I had earlier tried to get fuel at the fuel station and opened the bonnet in error rather than the fuel lid…then forgot to depress the bonnet to shut firmly…
And I just did as u said…I was about overtaking when the bonnet flew up(not violently though)…just glanced at rear mirror and driver’s mirror….no head lights behind me….I slowed down gradually and went behind the bus I was overtaking and came to a stop,closed it back and I was on my way…no damages…Mayb I was lucky though cos I was seen where the bonnet came up violently and destroyed the entire windscreen of a sienna mini van
