Aston Martin has finally revealed a convertible version of its DBS Superleggera GT car. The new 2-door convertible ditches the conventional fixed roof for an eight-layer folding fabric mechanism.
The convertible roof ,which can be operated either from the inside or by the key within two metres of the car, opens in 14 seconds and closes in 16 seconds.
The roof is available in eight exterior colours including including Bordeaux Red, Atlantic Blue and Titan Grey, with six interior headliners.
Like the coupe, it gets 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 engine delivering 715bhp – equivalent to power of seven Ford- Fiestas and 211-mph top speed, making it the fastest convertible to ever come out of Aston’s factory.
This engine propels the soft-top from rest to 62mph in just 3.6 seconds and up to 100mph in 6.7 seconds – that’s about 0.2 seconds and 0.3 seconds slower than the ferociously quick coupe.
The 2020 DBS Superleggera has a base price of $329,100 —just over $24,000 more than the coupe and about $99,000 more than the luxury Bentley Bentayga SUV.
