Another Toyota Gets The Nightshade Treatment, This Time Its The Camry
Toyota is reintroducing the Nightshade Edition as part of the 2023 Toyota Camry update. The Nightshade package has been highly successful for Toyota, offering a stylish design package straight from the factory at a reasonable price.
Available on Camry SE models with front-wheel drive, all-wheel drive and hybrid powertrains, the Nightshade package features eye-catching 19-inch alloy wheels with a matte bronze finish. They contrast with the sedan’s revised colour palette that includes new Reservoir Blue and Midnight Black and White. Counteracting the light wheels are new additions including headlights and taillights with dark trim and the Camry TRD’s black front grille. If you’re interested in the package, it’s available on all four-cylinder SE trims, including front-drive, all-wheel-drive and hybrid variants.
Inside, things don’t change at all. Black leatherette seats along with an 8.0-inch touchscreen are standard in the Nightshade Edition. Note that the 2023 Camry has the old Toyota infotainment system, not the new Multimedia setup seen in the latest Tundra and refreshed 2023 Highlander.
For the 2023 model year, the Camry continues to be available with a wide range of trim levels and engines. There are five FWD trim levels and five AWD grades, LE, XLE, SE, SE Nightshade, and XSE. Upgrading to the hybrid model brings a combined fuel efficiency rating of 52 miles per gallon and the same five trim levels. There are also three range-topping V6 models, XLE, XSE, and the performance TRD. More importantly, every new 2023 Camry, regardless of the engine and trim level, has a Top Safety Pick+ safety rating from the IIHS.
The Nightshade Edition is positioned between the SE and XSE grades in the Camry’s lineup and will be available in every powertrain except the V-6 engine.
