BYD confirms its hugely successful Ti7 7-seater SUV for the UK, to rival Land Rover Defender and Cherry Tiggo 9.
Known in China as Fang Cheng Bao Ti7, the 7-seat SUV is the largest and most versatile BYD to date, catering perfectly for larger families.
BYD has confirmed that its hugely successful Ti7 plug-in hybrid SUV for the UK market. Measuring 5,146mm long, 1,995mm wide and 1,865mm tall, the seven-seat SUV is the largest and most versatile BYD to date, catering perfectly for larger families and those with an active lifestyle.
Dubbed as “China’s answer to the Land Rover Defender, BYD’s new flagship for the UK carves out an assertive presence on the road with a dual-layer LED lighting signature with a prominent lower bumper section in a contrasting titanium finish.

Inside, BYD’s signature 15.6-inch central infotainment touchscreen, equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, sits at the heart of the cabin, offering intuitive access to key functions.
When it arrives in the UK in the coming months, the plug–in hybrid SUV will rival Chinese models such as the Chery Tiggo 9 and Jaecoo 8, as well as established European seven–seaters, including the Land Rover Defender.
Powering the Ti7 is BYD’s latest DM plug-in hybrid system that combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine with two electric motors that drives all four wheels, which allows the large SUV to sprint from 0-62mph in just 4.8 seconds.
Its 35.6 kWh FinDreams-made LFP battery-pack allows an all-electric range of 79 miles, putting it just behind the Jaecoo 8 (83 miles) and Chery Tiggo 9 (91 miles), but better than the plug-in hybrid Land Rover Defender with around 35 miles of electric-only driving.
In its home market, the Ti7 (also known as the Titanium 7 or Tia 7) is sold under BYD’s off-road high-end brand, Fang Cheng Bao (FCB), which was launched by BYD in 2023.
