Oil rich Dubai Police department adds all-electric Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 4Matic ultra-luxury sedan to its fleet.

Latest addition comes few weeks after Dubai Police took delivery of $300,000 Bentley Continental GT Grand Tourer.

The Dubai Police Department in UAE took delivery of its first electric car, the Hongqi E-HS9 SUV, last October.

Mercedes-Benz EQS sedan debut in 2021 as all-electric S-Class with 478-miles drive range and several luxuries.





All-electric EQS 108.7-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery-pack allows a drive range of up to 48-miles on full charge.

The Dubai Police department in the Oil Rich United Arab Emirates (UAE) has added an all-electric Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 4Matic ultra-luxury sedan worth $127,000 dollars to its fleet of patrol vehicles.

The latest addition comes few weeks after Dubai Police took delivery of $300,000 Bentley Continental GT and 10 months since its first electric car, the Hongqi E-HS9 SUV, joined its incredibly fleet last October.

Speaking at the unveiling, Maj Gen Khalil Ibrahim Al Mansouri, Assistant Commander-in-Chief for Criminal Investigation Affairs, at the Dubai Police Officers Club, said :

“Through adding supercars within its fleet of luxury patrol vehicles, Dubai Police enhances the security presence of police officers across essential tourist destinations, including Burj Khalifa, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard and JBR,” said Maj Gen Al Mansoori.





The Mercedes EQS 580 will now patrol Dubai highways with supercars like Bugatti Veyron, Lamborghini Aventador, Audi RS6 and Bentley Bentayga, just to mention few of the Dubai Police department’s impressive fleets.

The 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS, which debuted in 2021 as an all-electric S-Class, is available in two trims : The base EQS 450+ and range-topping the EQS 580 4Matic version, which Dubai Police department opted for.

The more powerful and all-wheel-drive Mercedes-Benz EQS 580 4Matic can sprint to 60 miles per hour in 4.1-second. Its 108.7-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery-pack allows a drive range of up to 478-miles.

The 516-horsepower EQS can recharge from 10 to 80 percent in 35 minutes via 110-kW DC fast charging. A 240-volt household wallbox will charge it from 10 to 100% in over 11 hours.
