First 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 VIN 001 Sells For Record-Breaking $3.6 Million At Auction
First-ever 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 sports car sells for record-breaking $3.6 Million at auction.
All proceeds from the sale will go to Operation Homefront, an organization that supports military families.
The buyer, Rick Hendrick, clearly has a thing for Chevrolet Corvettes as well as VIN 001 cars.
Hendrick is the same guy who paid a staggering $3 million to own the first-ever Chevrolet Corvette Stingray.
Wealthy gearhead, Rick Hendrick, has again set a new world record after purchasing the first-ever 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 VIN 001 for a whooping $3.6 Million at the annual Barrett-Jackson auction.
All proceeds of the charity auction will go to Operation Homefront, a charity organization that supports military families across United States.
“It’s truly a privilege to support our military members and their families through Operation Homefront. Proceeds from the first retail 2023 Corvette Z06 will benefit many US military families across the country who have done so much to serve our country,” said Steve Hill, vice president of Chevrolet.
The price Hendrick paid to own this 70th Anniversary Edition Z06 sports car is roughly thirty-six (36) times more than the expected base price of about $100,000.
The buyer, the owner of Hendrick Motorsports and founder of the Hendrick Automotive Group, clearly has a thing for Corvettes as well as VIN 001 cars.
Rick Hendrick is the same guy who paid fortunes to own several other special cars like the first-ever C8 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, Camaro ZL1 1LE, and even the 2017 NSX VIN #001.
In 2020, Rick Hendrick paid a staggering $3 million for the privilege of owning the first-ever Corvette Stingray, a car with a starting price of $60,900. All proceeds from the sale was also donated to charity.
