Hyundai Is Teaming Up With Amazon To Sell Its EVs Online

In time for Christmas, Hyundai is teaming up with Amazon to sell its electric vehicles online. This innovative strategy for car sales enables customers to buy a Hyundai EV as effortlessly as they would any other item on Amazon. Called Amazon Auto, this US initiative allows prospective buyers to explore Hyundai’s EV options, featuring the well-liked Ioniq 5, right on Amazon’s site. Customers can refine their search based on model, trim, color, and specifications.
One of the most appealing aspects of this new buying experience is the transparent pricing. Customers can avoid the often-dreaded haggling process at traditional dealerships, and see the vehicle’s price upfront. With Amazon’s familiar, seamless checkout process, the purchase can be completed entirely online.
Trading in an old vehicle is a breeze as well. Amazon Auto provides a platform to obtain a quote from an independent third party. This trade-in value can then be used to lower the price of the new electric Hyundai.
Hyundai’s decision to sell its EVs on Amazon comes at a time when the demand for electric vehicles is growing. The updated 2025 Hyundai IONIQ 5 promises a range of up to 512 km. It can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 20 minutes thanks to its fast charging capabilities, and it comes equipped with a NACS port, allowing owners to use Tesla’s Supercharger network.
The 2025 IONIQ 5 is available in various trims, each offering different features and price points. The base SE RWD Standard Range model starts at $42,500, while the top-of-the-line Limited Dual Motor AWD model is priced at $58,100, including the $1,475 destination charge. The all-new XRT version is priced at $55,400.
Hyundai’s partnership with Amazon paves the way for other car manufacturers to adopt similar online sales strategies. As Amazon expands its automotive program and includes more brands and dealerships, it will be interesting to watch its impact on the traditional dealership model.
