Toyota has unveiled the all-new sixth-generation RAV4, building on the legacy of its predecessors with advanced technologies that enhance performance, efficiency, safety, and the digital user experience.
The new RAV4 boasts a robust exterior reflecting its SUV spirit, highlighted by an eye-catching logo. Its strong front-end design and dynamic silhouette convey rugged off-road capabilities, while the redesigned cabin offers spaciousness and premium comfort.
The new Arena software platform enables the development of advanced safety and entertainment features. It enhances safety technologies in the RAV4 and features a cutting-edge multimedia system for improved connectivity and navigation.
The all-new RAV4 features Toyota’s next-generation plug-in hybrid system (2.5-i4), powered by a 22.7 kWh lithium-ion battery that provides an all-electric range of 100 km (WLTP combined). With a 50 kW DC fast charger, the battery can charge from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes. Home charging is also quicker with a new 11 kW AC charger, which can fully charge the battery in three hours.
The new battery pack combines with an improved front motor—now delivering 150 kW, an increase of 16 kW—to deliver powerful acceleration. The intelligent All-Wheel Drive (AWD-i) boasts a class-leading total output of 304 hp, contributing to a thrilling 0-100 km/h time of 5.8 seconds.
In addition to improving performance and charging, the new generation of plug-in hybrid systems also contributes to improved driving dynamics thanks to a lower center of gravity and increased body rigidity, achieved thanks to the battery’s position under the floor.
The all-new plug-in hybrid RAV4 makes smart use of its 100km electric range (WLTP combined) with geo-fencing technology, which automatically optimises electric driving to be ready for whatever the journey brings. By combining real-time road and traffic data with insights into the driver’s routine routes and driving style, the system can automatically switch between hybrid and electric modes to optimise range.
A front-wheel drive (FWD) configuration is introduced on the plug-in hybrid RAV4, making enhanced electrification even more accessible. It offers 268 horsepower.
In full hybrid specification, the all-new RAV4 also uses the latest Toyota technology. By improving the transmission, power control unit, battery, and other components, engine power has been improved, achieving seamless acceleration and quick starts with direct driving response. The AWD now delivers a total system output of 191 hp, while the front-wheel drive version delivers 183 hp.
GR SPORT
The all-new RAV4 delivers a more dynamic driving experience and sophisticated motorsport-inspired character in GR SPORT specification. It combines with a high-performance shock absorber design, reinforced rear suspension, and dedicated suspension and power steering tuning for a more stable and engaging drive. Lightweight 20-inch black alloy wheels also contribute to optimised airflow.
Emphasizing its connection with multiple world championship-winning motorsport team TOYOTA GAZOO Racing, the RAV4 GR SPORT adopts aluminum pedals and sports-inspired seats to elevate the pure driving experience to the next level.
The distinctive grille design in the GR-exclusive hexagonal G-mesh pattern creates a deeper 3D effect, creating an attractive and sporty first impression.
Inside, the stylish black interior is designed to draw attention to the road ahead. It features discreet GR logos and emotive red accents, including those on the steering wheel and synthetic leather seats.
The Arena platform in the all-new RAV4 marks the beginning of a new era of software-defined vehicles in which advanced digital technology creates new opportunities for improving safety.
The Arena features the latest Toyota T-Mate systems, including the next-generation Toyota Safety Sense. This system comes as standard with a more comprehensive suite of safety and driver assistance tools, which work faster than ever before.
The Forward Traffic Alert feature enhances vehicle safety by detecting cars ahead and providing visual and audible warnings if a collision risk is high. It works alongside the Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) system, which alerts drivers to unseen vehicles in their door mirrors.
The BSM now includes Rear Cross Traffic Alert, which helps reduce driving stress on motorways by warning drivers of fast-approaching vehicles from behind.
The upgraded Lane Change Assist helps drivers change lanes safely by checking for blind spots when the turn signal is activated and automatically completing the manoeuvre if safe. This feature works with Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keeping Assist.
Additionally, the Pre-Collision System has improved recognition of obstacles, bicycles, and motorcycles, alerting the driver with warnings and providing braking assistance when necessary to prevent or lessen the impact of collisions.
The “Advanced Park” remote control feature allows drivers to park using their smartphones from in front of the car, stopping immediately if the user removes their finger for safety. Manual parking is simplified with the improved Panoramic Monitor, which provides a three-dimensional view of the area around the vehicle.
The latest RAV4 debuts a faster and more compact multimedia system as part of a digital ecosystem powered by Arena, ensuring a seamless in-car experience.
The 12.3-inch driver cluster now integrates navigation maps with three-dimensional lane guidance, reducing distractions. The new 12.9-inch display consolidates essential information in one location with customizable shortcuts and a quick settings menu, making navigation easier.
A fast and precise voice assistant enhances the digital cockpit by managing navigation, media, car temperature, and vehicle controls.
