Obaseki Seeks Review Of National Transport Policies

The Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki, has advocated for a review of the country’s transportation policies and an efficient mass transit system to help check traffic issues on major roads.
Obaseki said this on Friday when he received the out-gone commanding officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), zone 5, Mr Godwin Ogagaoghene, who was on a courtesy visit in his office in Benin City.
He said it was important to revisit the country’s transportation policies because it is not sustainable for majority of the people to move in cars.
He assured that the state would collaborate with the FRSC in capacity building for the Edo State Traffic Management Agency (EDSTMA) in its determination to ensure sanity on the road and strengthening the state’s transport system.
Earlier, Ogagaoghene assured the governor that he would help in training the state-owned EDSTMA in traffic management and ensure the arrest of traffic offenders.
