Queen Elizabeth Dies at 96 (21 April 1926 – 08 September 2022) – Autojosh team, Nigeria mourns Her Majesty. 

Until her death, Elizabeth II was the Queen of UK and 14 other Commonwealth realms, including Nigeria.

During her reign, spanning 70 years, the Queen visited Nigeria twice – first in 1956, while her second visit was in 2003.

Autojosh team and Nigeria pay their last respect to her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, who died peacefully today 8 September, 2022 at Balmoral at the ripe age of 96.

The Queen was born Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor, in Mayfair, London, on 21 April 1926. Until her death, Elizabeth II was the Queen of the United Kingdom and 14 other Commonwealth realms, including Nigeria.

Her eldest son Charles, the former Prince of Wales, will now lead the country in mourning as the new King and head of state for 14 Commonwealth realms.

In a statement, His Majesty the King said :

“The death of my beloved mother Her Majesty the Queen, is a moment of the greatest sadness for me and all members of my family.

During Her reign, spanning 70 years, the Queen visited Nigeria twice – first in 1956, which was four years before Nigeria got her independence from Great Britain on October 1, 1960, while her second visit was in 2003 during the administration of Olusegun Obasanjo.

During her first visit to Nigeria on February 27, 1956, Elizabeth II spent a lot of her stay in the northern part of the country.

She was chauffeured around in a 1952 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith belonging to the then-Emir of Kano, Alhaji Mohammed Sanusi I. Mohammed Sanusi I was the father of the recently dethroned Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi.
