Rivian Sacks Hundreds Of Workers As They Hope For Better Times
Rivian is navigating turbulent waters, grappling with significant challenges that have led to a painful decision. In a troubling turn of events, the company is poised to part ways with hundreds of employees, following a previous round of layoffs that has already cast a shadow over its workforce.
The atmosphere within the company feels thick with uncertainty, as if a dense fog has settled over its halls. Employees navigate their days with a palpable unease, seeking stability in the midst of these turbulent times, where each decision hangs heavy with implications.
In September, the Wall Street Journal reported that American carmaker Rivian was laying off around 200 employees. A little over a month later, the same publication reported that another round of layoffs was underway, one even larger than the previous one.
Rivian will reportedly soon be parting with “more than 600” employees. Rivian is reportedly doing everything it can to reduce costs. The company is struggling with declining demand for electric cars in the United States and is facing stiff competition from brands like Tesla. Rivian is currently working hard to streamline various production processes in preparation for the launch of the updated Rivian R2. Eventually, Rivian also plans to produce a smaller car: the R3.
