Tesla Roadster Is Officially Coming Next Year According To Elon Musk
The arrival of the new Tesla Roadster has been postponed again and again. In November 2017, Tesla showed the new Roadster for the first time and said at the time that the car should be on the market around 2020. The model was subsequently postponed to 2022, and again to 2023, and in the middle of last year, it was announced that the start of production was planned for the end of 2024. Elon Musk now shares on X that he expects to be able to deliver the first copies in 2025. What is more interesting is what the chatty Musk says about the Roadster.
According to Elon Musk, the Tesla Roadster should be able to reach a speed of 97 km/h (60 mph) from a standstill in less than one second. That is an even more absurd value than the 1.9 seconds that Tesla communicated for the same sprint in 2017. Musk knows how to use superlatives better than anyone and says that “there will never be another car like the new Roadster. If you can even speak of a car.” According to Musk, the astonishing acceleration time is not even that interesting. “That’s the least interesting thing about the car.”
How will Tesla achieve a 0-100 time of less than one beat? That is still the question. As early as 2021, the CEO said that the Tesla Roadster would be optionally available with rocket engines. Musk doesn’t seem to have given up on that crazy idea yet. The CEO says on X that the new Roadster is the result of a collaboration between Tesla and his company, SpaceX. Indeed, the club single-handedly rams rockets through the edge of the stratosphere. The introduction of the Roadster seems to be quite spectacular. Elon Musk says he estimates that the introduction of the Roadster could be “the most stunning product demonstration of all time.”. So don’t be surprised if the Roadster rockets fly around your ears. Tesla has already shot a first-generation Roadster into space. The combination of the Roadster and SpaceX is therefore, not entirely new.
