Toyota And Lexus Reveal 16 New EVs That Are Set To Enter The Market - autojosh

Toyota And Lexus reveal sixteen (16) new electric concepts that are destined for production.

Types of car on display includes all-electric Pickup, Coupes, Buses, Sedans, SUVs as well as Sports Cars.

Toyota CEO also announced that the company is going to roll out 30 BEV models globally by 2030.





Toyota Motor Corporation today shocked the world with the unveiling of not one but sixteen (16) Toyota and Lexus BEV models that it is readying for market launch, including the all-new Toyota bZ4X due next year.

Today’s rollout of concept cars saw the reveal of various types of vehicles, including all-electric Pickup truck, City car, Coupe, Bus, Sedan, Midsized and Large SUVs as well as Sports car – some of which are all-new vehicles based on the EV-dedicated e-TNGA architecture.

During his presentation, Toyota President Akio Toyoda announced that the company is going to roll out 30 BEV models and is anticipating sales of 3.5 million BEVs globally by 2030.





Toyota’s luxury brand, the Lexus, also aims to have Battery-electric Vehicles (BEVs) account for 100% of the total sales in Europe, North America, and China by 2030.

“The Toyota brand now offers more than 100 models of engine-only vehicles, hybrid electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, and fuel cell electric vehicles in more than 170 countries and regions.”

“The Lexus brand has introduced more than 30 models of engine-only vehicles, hybrid electric vehicles, and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles in more than 90 countries and regions.

Furthermore, we will expand the options for carbon-neutral vehicles by offering a full lineup of battery EVs.”

“Specifically, we plan to roll out 30 battery EV models by 2030, globally offering a full lineup of battery EVs in the passenger and commercial segments.”

According to Toyoda, Toyota Plans to achieve carbon neutrality and reduction of CO2 emissions with its all electrified vehicles which are divided into two categories – the “Carbon-reducing vehicles” as well as the “Carbon-neutral vehicles”.

While the carbon-reducing vehicles will include the HEVs and the PHEVs, the carbon-neutral vehicles will consists of BEVs (all electric) as well as as FCEVs (Hydrogen-Powered powered vehicles).

Vehicles in the “carbon-neutral vehicles” category, which is the most important, will run on clean energy and achieve zero CO2 emissions in the whole process of their use, according to Toyota.
