Two train sets of 21 cars for the Lagos Red Line project arrives ahead of launch in the first quarter of 2023.
Projected to carry more than 1500 passengers per train set per direction from Agbado to Ebute Meta.
From first quarter of 2023, Lagosians will start to experience commuting on Red Line Rail Services.
The Blue Line, which traverses between Mile 2 and Marina, will be operated on Electric Motor Unit (EMU).
The 37-kilometre Red Line system (LRMT), from Agbado to Ebute Metta, will operate on Automotive Gas Oil (AGO).
The Lagos State Government on Tuesday September 27th, 2022, announced the arrival of twin Talgo intra city ten coach Metropolitan trains for passenger operations of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit (LRMT) Red Line system.
The Talgo trains purchased from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, consist of two train sets of 21 cars projected to carry more than 1500 passengers per train set per direction when the first phase from Agbado to Ebute Meta launches for operation in the first quarter of 2023.
The Lagos State Government will be delivering two rail mass transit projects within the first term of the Babajide Sanwo-Olu administration.
The Blue Line, which traverses between Mile 2 and Marina, will be operated on Electric Motor Unit (EMU), while the 37-kilometre Red Line, from Agbado to Ebute Metta, will operate on Automotive Gas Oil (AGO).
