2023 Ford F-Series Super Duty rated up to 500-hp, tow up to 40,000 pounds, reclaims pickup truck towing title.

Ford F-Series Super Duty lineup of heavy-duty pickup trucks includes the F-250, F-350, F-450 and the F-150 Tremor.

F-Series 6.7-liter V-8 Turbo diesel delivers 500 hp and 1,200 lb-ft of torque, and tows up to 40,000 pounds.

F-Series’ best-performing rivals, the Ram 3500 HD and Silverado 3500, tows 37,050 lbs and 36,000 pounds respectively.

Ford Motor on Thursday announced the pricing and a number of key specs for its redesigned all-new 2023 Ford F-Series Super Duty heavy-duty pickup truck, which made its debut back in September.

The all-new 2023 Ford F-Series Super Duty lineup includes the F-250, F-350, F-450 and the F-150 Tremor. Each package comes with new features like 360-Degree Trailer Camera Package and Onboard Scales for enhanced towing and hauling confidence.

Super Duty is available with trio of powertrains, including a newly developed 6.8-liter V-8 rated at 405 hp and 445 lb-ft of torque and a 7.3-liter V-8, rated at 430 hp and 485 lb-ft.

But the most powerful of the three engines is the 6.7-liter Power Stroke V8 diesel, which delivers up to 500 hp and 1,200 lb-ft of torque, and also enables the Super Duty to tow a maximum of 40,000 pounds.





Ford notes that the F-Series Super Duty unrivaled maximum towing capacity is half the combined weight of a semi-tractor and a fully loaded trailer.

As a comparison, some of F-Series Super Duty’s best-performing rivals, the Ram 3500 HD and the Silverado 3500, can tow a maximum of 37,050 lbs and 36,000 pounds respectively.

“The combination of purpose-built construction, powerful engines, 10-speed transmissions and new technology means our customers can work, tow and haul with absolute confidence.”

In addition, the most capable pickup truck in the lineup comes with 5G Wi-Fi, Ford Power Up over-the-air updates and seamless connectivity as well as Ford Pro software like Ford Pro Telematics or Vehicle Security Package.
