Mercedes urgently recalls 30,000 cars globally over faulty sunroof that might cause injury to other road users.
It said there is risk of injury or death to road users if the glass panel separates from the vehicle.
The affected models are the C-Class, CLK, CLS and E-Class sold between January 3, 2000 and July 31, 2010.

German auto-giant Mercedes-Benz has urgently recalled 30,000 vehicles globally over fears of a potentially deadly fault with the sunroof.
According to Mercedes-Benz in its recall notice, there is a risk of injury or death to other road users if the glass panel separates from the vehicle.

Part of the statement read :
“The durability of the bonding between the sunroof glass panel and the sliding roof frame on some vehicles might not meet specifications and the glass panel may separate from the vehicle,”
“If the glass panel separates from the vehicle, there is a risk of an accident resulting in injury or death of other road users.”

The affected Mercedes-Benz models are the C-Class, CLK, CLS and E-Class sold between January 3, 2000 and July 31, 2010.
The automaker advises affected owners to contact their nearest dealership for a free of charge inspection.
“Consumers are requested to contact their most convenient Mercedes-Benz retailer for a free of charge inspection of their sunroof; and repair, if required”
