$4 Million McLaren Solus GT Was The Quickest Car At This Year’s Goodwood Festival Of Speed

The track-only McLaren Solus GT was the quickest production car at this year’s Goodwood Festival Of Speed.

This time makes the McLaren Solus GT the third fastest production car to ever ascend the famed hillclimb.

Solus GT was among the favourite to break record-breaking 39.08 time set by McMurty Speirling last year.

Powering the F 1-style car is a 5.2 litre V10, which allows 0-62mph in 2.5 seconds and a top speed beyond 200mph.

Just 25 examples of the track-only single-seat mid-engined sports car will be produced.

An insane track-only McLaren Solus GT piloted by Marvin Kirchhöfer was the quickest car at this year’s Goodwood Festival Of Speed after completing the 1.16-mile Hillclimb in 45.345 seconds during the Timed Shootout on Sunday.

This time makes the McLaren Solus GT the third fastest production car to ever ascend the famed hillclimb. The Solus GT was among the favourite to break record-breaking 39.08 time set by McMurty Speirling during the 2022 Edition.

The McLaren Solus GT, which celebrated its public debut at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, is the craziest car the British firm has ever sold to customers.

“The Solus GT is the realisation of a radical McLaren concept vehicle originally created only for the world of virtual racing…it epitomises the art of the possible”, said Michael Leiters, the Chief Executive Officer, McLaren Automotive.

Just 25 examples of this ultra-rare, single-seat mid-engined sports car with central closed cockpit and jet aircraft-style canopy will be produced. According to reports, each of the sold-out car starts at $4 Million.

Powering the F 1-style car is a 5.2 litre V10 engine, which produces 817 horsepower and 650NM of torque, allowing the insane McLaren Solus GT to reach 0-100km/h (62mph) in 2.5 seconds and a maximum speed beyond 200mph.
